Everything with a history

From the home and the car to the horse and the guitar: anything with a history can have a timeline. Here are some ideas to start from.

Start your timeline

  • Renovations, appliances and the warranty you will need one day.

  • Opening up, closing down, the roof, the well and who fixed what.

  • What you changed, and what the housing association decided.

  • What you planted, where, and what came back the next year.

  • Services, tyres and inspections, with the mileage each time.

  • Launch, haul-out, engine service and the winter cover.

  • Services, tyres and the season’s first ride.

  • Gas checks, damp tests and every campsite.

  • Services, new parts, and the frame number if it goes missing.

  • Jobs, moves, courses and the days that mattered.

  • First words, vaccinations, schools and how tall they grew.

  • Doctor’s visits, medication, and when you last had a check-up.

  • Courses, certificates and every job title you have held.

  • The planning, the suppliers, what it cost and the day itself.

  • Vet visits, vaccinations, food and weight.

  • The farrier, the vet, the dentist and every competition.

  • Water changes, the fish, and when the filter was last changed.

  • Where you went, where you stayed and what it cost.

  • Concerts, matches and shows, with the ticket kept.

  • The races you ran, your times and the shoes you ran them in.

  • What you own, where it came from and what it is worth.

  • Receipts, servicing and valuations for the insurance.

  • Purchase dates, warranties and serial numbers.

  • Repairs, set-ups and where you bought them.

Questions about what you can keep

Short answers before you start.

Can I keep a history of something that is not on this page?

Yes. These are ideas, not a list of what is allowed. Name anything you like and record what happens to it the same way as everything else.

How many things can I keep for free?

Basic covers three objects and a hundred events, with a photo on each, and it stays free. Premium removes the limits on objects and events.

Can one object be part of another?

Yes. Put the kitchen in the house, the dishwasher in the kitchen or the engine in the boat. Each part keeps a timeline of its own, and you can see them together.

What can I record about each object?

Events with a date, a title and a cost, and the few fields that kind of event needs, such as the mileage at a car service. Add a photo of the receipt. Documents and PDFs come with Premium.

Can I keep a history together with someone else?

Yes, with Premium. Share an object, such as the summer house with the family or the horse with the stable, and choose whether each person can add events or only read them.

Do I have to fill in everything from the start?

No. Start with what you know today and add older events whenever you come across a receipt or remember a date. The timeline puts each one in its place.

Can I take my history with me?

Yes. Export everything you have recorded, at any time, on every plan.
